Rewarding careers in the NZ Plumbing industry EARN WHILE YOU LEARN

There’s a massive skills shortage in the NZ Plumbing Trades and we’ll be in some serious trouble in a few years if no one does anything about it.  Our economy is healthy and is only getting stronger with a large number of projects expected to commence this year; this activity will increase 4.5% annually into 2023 but only if we address the MASSIVE SKILLS SHORTAGE we currently face.

There's alot of work coming in the next few years WE NEED 30% MORE QUALIFIED PLUMBERS NOW (2,000+ people) to keep up with economic growth and OVERSEAS PLUMBERS DO NOT MEET NEW ZEALAND STANDARDS.

Plumbers, gasfitters and drainlayers work in varied locations and every job is different. Work involves putting pipe systems in new houses, renovating older houses or working on commercial job sites.   IT’S FUN. IT’S DIFFERENT. YOU LEARN ALOT… and you aren’t a poor student! YOU HAVE AN INCOME and when you finish your training your debt will be minimal compared to your friends who went and got a degree...

There's also HUGE EARNING POTENTIAL for a plumber - by age 30 your income and financial position will be better than a medical graduate!  Plumbing also pays a very good salary if you are self-employed so the rewards are there if you put in the hard work.  One day you could be running a successful business and won't even need to get your hands dirty on the tools!  It's an awesome place to be.

The NZ Plumbing industry offers amazing careers and with the massive amount of work head the options are endless.  And that all starts with an apprenticeship.

Our friends at MASTERLINK connect top-quality apprentices with successful NZ plumbing, gasfitting & drainlaying businesses so you can easily get qualified in the plumbing/drainlaying and gasfitting trades:

- Earn while you learn - Masterlink pay you while you learn, even while you are on block course!

- Masterlink pay your training fees - all block course and training fees, worth over $11,000!

- Masterlink place you in a plumbing firm - you will get matched with a local business for your on-job work experience and set you up with a Masterlink mentor.

- Masterlink give you the tools for the job - receive a starter tool and PPE kit worth $2,000.

Financial assistance is also available - new Masterlink apprentices can apply for a special interest-free loan package from principal sponsor BNZ so your debt is minimal while you train.

If you are interested in starting an apprenticeship or looking to take on an apprentice, contact Masterlink via the link below.
