Who can enter

Entry for Young Plumber of the Year is FREE and is open to the following tradespeople:

  • Apprentice, Licenced, or Certifying Plumber/Gasfitter; Plumber/Drainlayer; Plumber/Gasfitter/Drainlayer.
  • Be in your second year of your National Certificate in Plumbing and Gasfitting or Plumbing and Drainlaying by April 2026.
  • Employed by or contracted to a plumbing firm, training organisation or a plumber at the time of the competition, or self-employed.
  • 31 years old or younger on 31 December of year of entry.

Please note that entrants do not have to be Plumbing World customers to enter. The competition is open to any tradesperson or trainee regardless of training provider.

    Terms and Conditions of Entry

    All entrants must read and understand these terms and conditions of entry.

    • Entrants must be meet all applicable entry requirements and competition criteria as detailed to be eligible.
    • Entries must be fully and correctly completed and signed by entrant – incomplete or incorrect entries will deemed void and ineligible to enter the competition.
    • By completing the registration (either online or hard copy) entrants solemnly and sincerely declare that, to the best of their knowledge and belief, all information is entirely true and correct.
    • Entry deems the entrant has read and understood the terms and conditions of entry.
    • Entrants agree to participate in judging and associated activities. If judged a regional winner, Entrants agree to participate in the national competition.
    • Entrants agree to allow their details to be supplied to national sponsors.
    • Entrants agree to let Young Plumbers know of any employment changes during the competition.
    • Entrants agree to participate in any publicity relating to this award. This may include, but is not exclusive to, media interviews/photographs.
    • Entrants can participate in the competition provided they are not a previous national winner.
    • Competitors can only compete in the National Final a maximum of three (3) times.
    • The judges have full discretion to disqualify any entries if they do not meet entry requirements and criteria.
    • The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
    • Prizes are non-transferable or redeemable for cash or account payment(s).
    • Prizes must be claimed, collected and/or redeemed within 2 years of the event or will be void.
