Regional skills test submission- overdue

This is a friendly follow up as your 2023 YPOTY Regional Skills Test has not been submitted.  We are now past the extended submission date.

We will see the top 80 contestants from throughout the country vie for a spot at the 2023 National Final.  This is really where the competition rubber meets the road, so your regional skills test needs to be more technical with a focus on pushing competitors’ knowledge and skills at a more in-depth level.

Important points to note – just a reminder to please include the following when formulating your test: 

• FOCUS: We need to test competitors’ speed, accuracy, skills in system construction, problem solving/diagnosis/servicing, and general product knowledge. Please keep this in mind.
• WHAT/HOW: A detailed diagram and process of what your regional skills test is and how it will work for competitors.
• TIMING: Optimal timeframe is 10 minutes or less, and this includes your introduction and test overview for competitors.
• MARKING CRITERIA: Any specific criteria you need to include.  This will help to build your marking schedule.  Please pay attention to the timing brackets, this is a great way to spread the field.
• TRANSPORTATION: Plumbing World are managing logistics so please bear the size of your test in mind when building. We will be palletising all tests at the end of each event for transport to the next event. 
• UTILITIES: If you require power or a drill/driver please let us know.  Milwaukee once again has loan tools on offer we can utilise.

Once approved, we will work with you to get this to our first event in Wanaka on 19th September 2023.
